Phlapphla, a dedicated writer, has always shouldered the responsibility of caring for her brother, Tong, especially with no help from their eldest sister, Treepradub, who married into wealth and never offered assistance.

Trouble arises when Tong gets into an argument with Pheem's brother, leading to a violent altercation in which Tong knocks him unconscious. This event forces Phlapphla and Pheem to cross paths, but their first meeting is far from cordial—Phlapphla slaps him across the face in a moment of frustration.
