In the Tang Dynasty, Ji Ying Ying, a young woman from the Huanhua Dyeing Workshop in Yizhou, was once close to Zhao Xiu Yuan, the son of a wealthy brocade family. However, because of family pressures, Zhao Xiu Yuan was forced to marry someone else.

Later, Ji Ying Ying met Yang Jing Lan, the third son of a powerful family. Though she didn't like him at first, Yang Jing Lan soon won her over, and they became good friends who slowly started to care for each other.

But trouble came when the White King, prince of the neighboring Nanzhao Kingdom, visited Yizhou. He wanted to steal Ji's family's secret dyeing recipe, so he tricked Zhao Xiu Yuan into helping him.

To protect Ji’s family, Yang Jing Lan stepped up to defend his hometown. After a fierce battle, he successfully pushed the White King out, and the families were finally safe and reunited.
